To commend and thank Nichole Dunn for her outstanding service as the President & CEO of the Women’s Fund of Central Ohio

WHEREAS, Nichole Dunn has served as the President & CEO of the Women’s Fund of Central Ohio since 2008 and has effectively led them in their mission to spark conversation about gender equality and to initiate social and economic change for women and girls in Central Ohio; and
WHEREAS, Nichole Dunn is a nationally recognized advocate for gender equality, having presented research to the White House Council on Women and Girls and other advocacy organizations in Washington, D.C., as well as overseeing the partnership with the Kirwan Institute for the Study of Race and Ethnicity to research the effect of race, gender norms, and bias in Central Ohio; and
WHEREAS, under the leadership of Nichole Dunn, the Women’s Fund of Central Ohio acquired a $4 million endowment, while more than $3 million in grants were secured in support of their work; and
WHEREAS, Nichole Dunn has been recognized by Columbus Business First as a ‘40 under 40’ award recipient and by Women for Economic and Leadership Development (WELD) with the ‘Women Welding the Way’ award; and
WHEREAS, Nichole Dunn is active in the community, frequently shares her broad professional expertise as a speaker, panelist, and moderator at events throughout Central Ohio, and currently serves as a board member on the Drug Free Action Alliance and as a commissioner on the Columbus Women’s Commission; and
WHEREAS, women and girls in Central Ohio have benefited from Nichole Dunn’s work and she leaves a legacy of service and success at the Women’s Fund that will last well beyond her departure; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS: That this Council does hereby express its profound appreciation to Nichole Dunn for her service to the community as the President & CEO of the Women’s Fund of Central Ohio upon her departure.
