To recognize the Central Ohio African American Chamber of Commerce and to commend Executive Director, J. Averi Frost on her leadership

 

Body

WHEREAS, the new Central Ohio African American Chamber of Commerce officially launched on Jan. 18, 2018, under the direction of Executive Director, J. Averi Frost; and

 

WHEREAS, for several years Ms. Frost has worked in the area of serving minority businesses and she was the former Director of the Columbus Minority Business Assistance Center. She has also lead workshops and counseled clients in areas such as business administration, and government procurement; and

 

WHEREAS, the Chamber’s mission is to “Encourage and Empower African American owned businesses locally and abroad,” and it’s known as the centralized resource center for the African American business community; and

 

WHEREAS, there are over 17,000 black owned business in Central Ohio and the new organization was formed to advocate and represent the interests of those business owners; now therefore,

 

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS: That this Council does hereby recognize the African American Chamber of Commerce and to commend Averi on her dedication to serving the business community. We wish you and the Chamber much success!
