Explanation

Background:

To allow the Director of Recreation and Parks to extend the Agreement for Shared Use of the Columbus Performing Arts Center (Agreement) between the City of Columbus (City), Recreation and Parks Department, and the Contemporary American Theatre Company (CATCO) to define the responsibilities of each of the parties for the Columbus Performing Arts Center.

This agreement will continue to extend our partnership with CATCO, who has been occupying the building since 2006. The city will enter into a shared use and management agreement with the Contemporary American Theatre Company (“CATCO”), an Ohio non-profit corporation, located at 77 South High Street, 2nd Floor, Columbus, Ohio 43215, and the City of Columbus, a municipal corporation, through its Recreation and Parks Department, 1111 E. Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43215, hereinafter referred to as “CRPD” and/or “City”, sets forth the terms of the Shared Use and Management Responsibilities for the Columbus Performing Arts for the period of February 1, 2018 through December 31, 2020 with a possible one year extension, upon review and agreement by both CATCO and CRPD.

The Columbus Performing Arts Center (“Center”), Franklin County Tax Parcel 010-046341 is located at 549 Franklin Avenue, Columbus, 43205 and consists of approximately 21,000 square feet containing two theaters, offices, scene shop and dressing rooms.
