Explanation
BACKGROUND: This legislation authorizes the Director of the Department of Development to modify Contract PO-019522 with Ohio Mechanical by extending the contract termination date from June 30, 2017 to March 31, 2018. This contract supports the Emergency Home Repair Program. This legislation would modify the Agreement authorized by Ordinance 1906-2016, passed on July 18, 2016. This modification is made in accordance with the relevant provisions of City Code Chapter 329 relating to contract modifications.
Emergency action is requested so program activities can be completed without further delay.
FISCAL IMPACT: No additional funds are needed for this modification.

To authorize the Director of the Department of Development to modify the Emergency Services Repair contract with Ohio Mechanical by extending the contract termination date to March 31, 2018; and to declare an emergency.
Body
WHEREAS, the Director of the Department of Development desires to modify Contract PO-019522 with Ohio Mechanical by extending the contract termination date from June 30, 2017 to March 31, 2018; and
WHEREAS, this contract supports the Emergency Home Repair Program; and
WHEREAS, this modification will allow Ohio Mechanical to complete its projects and fully expend its funds; and
WHEREAS, no additional funds are needed to modify this agreement; and
WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the usual daily operation of the Department of Development in that it is immediately necessary to modify the agreement with Ohio Mechanical so program activities can be completed without further delay, all for the immediate preservation of the public health, peace, property, safety and welfare; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
SECTION 1. That the Director of the Department of Development is hereby authorized to modify Contract PO-019522 with Ohio Mechanical by extending the contract termination date from June 30, 2017 to March 31, 2018.
