To Recognize and Congratulate the Columbus Fire Fighters Union Local 67 IAFF on their 100^th Anniversary 

Body

WHEREAS, The Columbus Fire Fighters Union Local 67 IAFF is celebrating 100 years of service to the Firefighters in the Columbus Division of Fire; and

WHEREAS, Established in 1918, the Columbus Local Firefighters Union now represents over 1,500 firefighters covering 34 fire stations across the greater Columbus Metropolitan area, serving 222 square miles and nearly 900,000 residents; and

WHEREAS, Firefighting has always been one of the most dangerous positions in public service, as freighters put their service to the community above their personal safety; and

WHEREAS, Our Fire Fighters serve the citizens of Columbus with a wide range of services, including but not limited to structural firefighting, advanced life support paramedic service, technical rescue, hazardous materials response, fire prevention education and inspections, bomb squad and arson investigation; and

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:

That this Council does hereby recognize and congratulate the Columbus Fire Fighters Union Local 67 IAFF on their 100^th Anniversary and to thank our Columbus Firefighters for conducting themselves with selflessness and professionalism as they serve the residents of Columbus.
