To recognize and celebrate Woolpert, Inc. as the 2018 GreenSpotLight Award Winner in the Medium Business Category

WHEREAS, Woolpert, Inc. will be recognized as the 2018 GreenSpotLight Award Winner in the Medium Business Category on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at the GreenSpotLight Award Celebration at the Franklin Park Conservatory; and
WHEREAS, Woolpert, Inc., located at One Easton Oval, is an architecture, engineering, and geospatial (AEG) firm with 26 employees. Woolpert, Inc. became a GreenSpot in 2016 and has made changes in the past year to warrant this award; and
WHEREAS, to win a GreenSpotLight Award in the Medium Business Category, a medium-sized business must make a significant effort to minimize its impact on the environment and Columbus. Among the many changes made in 2017, Woolpert, Inc. acquired a bicycle rack to encourage employees to bike to work, conserved water by reporting water leaks immediately, and encouraged recycling in the workplace and at home; and
WHEREAS, by encouraging bicycling to work, their employees biked 768 total miles to and from work in 2017; and
WHEREAS, GreenSpot congratulates and thanks Woolpert, Inc. on its efforts to become a greener, more sustainable business; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS: That this Council does hereby recognize and celebrate Woolpert, Inc. for its commitment to a clean and sustainable future in the city of Columbus.
