To Recognize Joseph Morbitzer and His Work as a Community Leader and Honor Him as a Recipient of the 2018 Jefferson Award.

 

Body

WHEREAS, Joseph Morbitzer, Westerville’s Chief of Police, dedicates his time to community involvement when he isn’t running the Westerville Police Department; and

 

WHEREAS, not only is he always available to the residents of Westerville in his professional capacity, he also spends his free time volunteering for organizations like the Special Olympics and participating in fundraisers, including the Polar Bear Plunge and the Torch Run; and

 

WHEREAS, in hopes of building a united Westerville community, Joseph helped organize the Community Culture Day and established other events to familiarize the residents with the police force, namely, Cops and Kids Day and Serving Our Seniors Day; and

 

WHEREAS, Joseph Morbitzer has been nominated for the 2018 Jefferson Award because of his tireless community involvement and endless commitment to the residents of Westerville; now, therefore

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:

 

That this Council does hereby recognize Joseph Morbitzer and his work to as a community leader and honor him as a recipient of the 2018 Jefferson Award on April 3, 2018.
