To Recognize Lawrence Fisher and His Work to Preserve Historic Properties in Columbus and Honor Him as a Recipient of the 2018 Jefferson Award.

 

Body

WHEREAS, Lawrence Fisher, a founder of the Columbus Association for the Performing Arts, attorney, and a trustee of the Jefferson Avenue Center, has committed 40 years to preserving and restoring historic properties; and

 

WHEREAS, through his pro-bono legal services and position at the Jefferson Avenue Center, Lawrence, affectionately known as Larry, has assisted in preserving properties and restoring parts of Jefferson Avenue to serve as a campus for non-profit organizations; and

 

WHEREAS, as a founder of CAPA, Larry dedicated his time to many causes, including saving the Ohio Theatre; as Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees, Larry provides council on the maintenance and acquisition of CAPA’s properties; and

 

WHEREAS, Lawrence Fisher has been nominated for the 2018 Jefferson Award because of his continued dedication to the causes about which he is passionate; now, therefore

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:

 

That this Council does hereby recognize Lawrence Fisher and his work to preserve historic properties in Columbus and honor him as a recipient of the 2018 Jefferson Award on April 3, 2018.
