Title

To Celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Annual All-Star Saturday and Recognize the Metropolitan Youth Foundation of Central Ohio’s Service to Our Community.

 

Body

WHEREAS, All-Star Saturday is an all-day event for families in the Columbus community hosting a wide range of activities including Easter egg hunts and basketball competitions available at no cost to the attendees; and

 

WHEREAS, not only is the event intended to provide fun for the community; families are encouraged to attend and explore a wide range of informational meetings and outreach services, including health screenings and discussions about how to make healthful and nutritious food choices; and

 

WHEREAS, Until 2014, All-Star Saturday was largely sponsored by Capital Transportation; now, the Metropolitan Youth Foundation, a non-profit focused in central Ohio that is committed to the well-being of underserved youth founded by Richard Crockett, partnered with Capital Transportation to host the event; and

 

WHEREAS, planning, organizing, and staffing All-Star Saturday requires tremendous effort from volunteers; All-Star Saturday is an amazing opportunity to Columbus youth and families to enjoy fun-filled day at no cost and learn about outreach opportunities in the community; now therefore

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:

 

That this Council does hereby recognize and celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Annual All-Star Saturday on March 31, 2018.
