Title

To Recognize Edward Hunt as an Honorary Truck Driver and Thank Organizers and Volunteers of the Walmart Heart Program.

 

Body

WHEREAS, the Walmart Heart program was created by a team of Walmart truck drivers who wanted to impact their community through outreach and service; and

 

WHEREAS, the program has now expanded to thousands of truck drivers across the country who spend time with children in hospitals, provide them with companionship, take them on ride-alongs, and present them with honorary licenses; and

 

WHEREAS, Edward William Hunt, or Eddie as he is affectionately known, was born on August 20th, 2011; on July 17th, 2012, Eddie was diagnosed with bacterial meningitis and admitted into Nationwide Children's Hospital; and

 

WHEREAS, the kind volunteers for the Walmart Heart Program would like to honor his bravery and organized the event on April 28th, 2018 on his behalf where his courage will be celebrated, and he will be named an honorary truck driver; now, therefore

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:

 

That this Council does hereby recognize Edward Hunt as an Honorary Truck Driver and thank organizers and  volunteers of the Walmart Heart Program on April 28th, 2018.
