Explanation
BACKGROUND: This legislation authorizes the Finance and Management Director to modify past, present and future contracts and purchase orders with Thomas Scientific, Inc. Thomas Scientific, Inc. changed their business structure to a limited liability company. This ordinance authorizes the assignment of all past, present and future business done by the City of Columbus from Thomas Scientific, Inc. 223336902 to Thomas Scientific, LLC 611853692.
No additional funds are necessary to modify the option contract(s) as requested. There is no change in the type of products being procured and the original contract was formally bid. The original terms and conditions remain in effect.
EMERGENCY DESIGNATION: The Finance and Management Department respectfully requests this legislation be considered an emergency in order to maintain an uninterrupted supply of Lab Supplies.
FISCAL IMPACT: No additional funding is required to modify the option contract. City agencies must set aside their own funding for their estimated expenditures.

WHEREAS, the Finance and Management Department, Purchasing Office has an option contract and open purchase orders for Lab Supplies for use by City agencies and,
WHEREAS, Thomas Scientific, Inc. has changed their company name to Thomas Scientific, LLC due their business structure being changed to a limited liability company, and in addition to notifying the City, Thomas Scientific, LLC has agreed to honor the past, present and future contracts and agreements; and,
WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the usual daily operation of the Department of Finance and Management in that it is immediately necessary to modify all contracts and purchase orders established and in process with Thomas Scientific, Inc., thereby preserving the public...
