To honor and celebrate the life of Columbus Police Officer Jason T. Jackson and to extend our sincerest condolences to his family and friends

 

Body

 

WHEREAS, Columbus Police Officer Jason T. Jackson joined the Division of Police in April of 1994 after serving as a Columbus Division of Fire firefighter for two years; and

WHEREAS, the son of Chief James G. Jackson and the late Beverly Jackson, Jason thrived as a member of the Columbus Division of Police serving as an officer in many capacities during his 24 years; and

WHEREAS, Officer Jackson was best known for his role as a Community Liaison Officer and his involvement with the CPD Explorers Program, which focuses on mentoring youth and inspiring the next generation of police officers; and

WHEREAS, a graduate of Columbus City Schools' West High School, Jason was a son of Columbus and will be missed greatly for his contributions to this community; and

WHEREAS, Jason was a loving son, father of four, and husband. He will be remembered for his intelligence, charisma, and kindness for other. His presence had a huge impact on those around him and he will be greatly missed; now, therefore

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS: That this Council does hereby honor and celebrate the life of Columbus Police Officer Jason T. Jackson and extends our sincerest condolences to his family and friends.
