Background: This legislation authorizes the Director of the Department of Development to amend the contract with R.L. Underwood & Associates by extending the contract period to August 1, 2019. R.L. Underwood & Associates is a sole proprietorship that provides services to assist small businesses to develop and implement creative business development solutions. The company provides management consulting as well as assistance in preparing loan packages for private, federal, state, and local lending programs. Service can be developed and customized to meet the needs of start-up as well as existing businesses.
R.L. Underwood & Associates currently works with the City of Columbus Department of Development Office of Small Business and Entrepreneurial Development to assist small businesses in an effort to increase the number of certified businesses in the City of Columbus. Business. The company provides business planning and development services which includes the following:
8marketing planning and development 8bid preparation and procurement
8business financial planning 8certification and on-boarding assistance
8strategic business planning 8loan brokering
8growth planning 8support services
8loan packaging 8RFP and Bid Analysis Support
The current contract ends on April 3, 2019. An amendment is needed to extend the contract period to August 1, 2019 to allow R.L. Underwood & Associates to continue to provide services to the small business community and achieve the objectives as stated in the Scope of Services of the current contract.
