To Recognize Pastor Von Thomas, in Honor of her Service and Ministry to the Community and to congratulate her on her retirement.
Body
WHEREAS, in 1983 Pastor Thomas organized the Von Thomas & Friends Interdenominational Love Choir to annihilate denominational and racial barriers in the Body of Christ and the power of God’s love; and
WHEREAS, in 1992, Pastor Thomas organized the Interdenominational Christian Women’s Fellowship, an interdenominational and interracial ministry, to strengthen and empower women in the Body of Christ to live the abundant life and to impact society through their diverse gifts and outreach ministries; and
WHEREAS, Pastor Thomas was called and anointed by God to preach the Gospel and was anointed by Apostle LaFayette Scales in 2009; and
WHEREAS, Pastor Thomas is known for her dynamic delivery of the Word and for her ministry of healing and deliverance by the power of the Holy Ghost, impacting the lives of men, women and young people by God’s unconditional love for His people through her ministry of compassion and love, and;
WHEREAS, Pastor Thomas, Pastor of the Abundant Life Christian Center in Columbus, Ohio, has during her more than 40 years of ministry experience, been awarded the prestigious Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Humanitarian Award, the Living Faith Award, the Silver and Gold Community Activist Award and the Woman of the Year in Religion Award; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS: that this council hereby recognizes Pastor Von Thomas, a highly anointed and gifted woman of God, and congratulates her on her retirement.
