Explanation
BACKGROUND:
This code change will increase the scope of the type and the size of signs that a Limited Sign Erector is able to obtain installation permits for and be qualified to work on as requested by the Columbus Sign Erectors Board. This will enable a more logical distinction between the two classes of sign erector licenses as well as better potential to obtain the skills needed to transition from the limited sign erectors license to the general sign erectors license.
A public hearing was held before the Columbus Development Commission on September 12, 2019, whereupon they voted to recommend this proposed code change be forwarded to Columbus City Council for adoption.
FISCAL IMPACT: No funding is required for this legislation.
