To honor, recognize and celebrate the life of Belinda Taylor Wood, 1953-2019.                     

 

Body

 

WHEREAS,  Belinda Taylor Wood died peacefully, surrounded by loved ones on October 27, 2019, had lived in Columbus, Ohio, loved the Lord and confessed Him as her Lord and Savior;  and

 

WHEREAS, Belinda Taylor Wood fiercely loved her son Robert Taylor, III, who preceded her in death; her daughter-in-law Rebecca Taylor and her granddaughters Makayla M. Taylor; Mayah M. Taylor and Meranda U. Taylor; and

 

WHEREAS, Belinda Taylor Wood was a devoted and loyal friend to many; and

 

WHEREAS, Belinda Taylor Wood loved politics and worked in the Ohio House of Representatives from 1977-1988; Black Elected Democrats of Ohio from 1988-1991; Attorney General’s Office from 1991-1994; Community Relations Consultant from 1995-2003 and Central Ohio Transit Authority from 2003-2019; and

 

WHEREAS, Belinda Taylor Wood formerly served on the Board of Trustees for City Year Columbus and on the Kick Butt Columbus Committee; and

 

WHEREAS, Belinda Taylor Wood was deeply loved and cherished by her family and friends who will forever carry the memory of her in their hearts; now therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS: That this Council does hereby honor, recognize, and celebrate the life of Belinda Taylor Wood and does declare that her birthday, June 9th, be a day of renewed commitment to service and the democratic process.
