Title: To authorize the Finance and Management Director to modify an existing Universal Term Contract for the option to purchase absorbent materials and spill containment products with Applied Industrial Technologies, Inc.

Explanation

 

BACKGROUND:  This legislation authorizes the Finance and Management Director to modify an existing Universal Term Contract (UTC) for the option to obtain absorbent materials and spill containment products with Applied Industrial Technologies, Inc.  This contract provides for absorbent granules, mats, and containment basins to prevent and protect against oil and other liquid spills.  This modification is necessary to extend the contract for one (1) year.  The contract, PO131694 was established in accordance with Request for Quotation RFQ008781 and will expire May 31, 2020. 

 

No additional funds are necessary to modify the option contract as requested.  The original contract was formally bid.  The original terms and conditions remain the same.

 

FISCAL IMPACT: No funding is required to modify the option contract.  City agencies must set aside their own funding for their estimated expenditures.

To authorize the Finance and Management Director to modify an existing Universal Term Contract for the option to purchase absorbent materials and spill containment products with Applied Industrial Technologies, Inc.

 

 

Body

 

WHEREAS, the Purchasing Office entered into a Universal Term Contract for Absorbent Materials and Spill Containment Products  for use citywide; and 

 

WHEREAS, it is necessary to modify the existing Universal Term Contract with Applied Industrial Technologies, Inc. to include a one (1) year extension; and

 

WHEREAS, it has become necessary in usual daily operation of the Department of Finance and Management to authorize the Director of Finance and Management to modify a contract with Applied Industrial Technologies, Inc. for the option to obtain Absorbent Materials and Spill Containment Products; now, therefore

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:

 

SECTION 1.  That the Finance and Management Director is hereby authorized to modify a Universal Contract for Absorbent Materials and Spill Containment Products with Applied Industrial Technologies, Inc.

 

SECTION 2. That this modification is in accordance with relevant provisions of Chapter 329 of the Columbus City Code. 

 

SECTION 3.  That this ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
