Title: To authorize the Finance and Management Director to renew a Universal Term Contract for the option to purchase PVC SDR 35 Sewer Fittings with Ferguson Enterprises.

Explanation

BACKGROUND:  This legislation authorizes the Finance and Management Director to renew an existing Universal Term Contract (UTC) for the option to obtain PVC SDR 35 Sewer Fittings with Ferguson Enterprises.  This contract provides for Sewer fittings for the Division of Sewers and Drains. 

 

The contract, PO107744 was established in accordance with Request for Quotation RFQ006861 and authorized under Ordinance Number 3044-2017 and will expire March 31, 2020.  In accordance with the bid specifications, the City and Ferguson Enterprises can renew the contract for an additional one year term subject to mutual agreement and approval of proper City Authorities.  The new contract expiration date will be March 31, 2021.

The current contract with Core & Main for the GPK catalog will not be extended under PO107750; the current contract with Discount Drainage Supplies of Columbus for the Plastic Trends catalog will not be extended under PO107738. These items will need to be bid informally as needed by the agencies.

 

FISCAL IMPACT: No funding is required to renew the option contract.  The Department of Public Utilities must set aside their own funding for their estimated expenditures.

To authorize the Finance and Management Director to renew a Universal Term Contract for the option to purchase PVC SDR 35 Sewer Fittings with Ferguson Enterprises.

 

Body

 

WHEREAS, the Purchasing Office entered into a Universal Term Contract for PVC SDR 35 Sewer Fittings for use by the Division of Sewers and Drains; and 

 

WHEREAS, this contract was entered into in accordance with Chapter 329 of the Columbus City Code, pursuant to solicitation RFQ006861 with Ferguson Enterprises deemed the lowest, most responsive, responsible and best bidder, and

 

WHEREAS, in accordance with the bid specifications, the City and Ferguson Enterprises can renew the contract for an additional one year period, subject to mutual agreement and approval of proper City authorities; and

 

WHEREAS, it has become necessary in the usual daily operation of the Department of Public Utilities to authorize the Finance and Management Director to renew a Universal Term Contract with Ferguson Enterprises for the option to obtain PVC SDR 35 Sewer Fittings; now, therefore

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:

 

SECTION 1.  That the Finance and Management Director is hereby authorized to renew the option contract with Ferguson Enterprises, PO107744 for a period of one year, from March 31, 2020 to and including March 31, 2021.

 

SECTION 2.  That this extension is in accordance with relevant provisions of Section 329 of the Columbus City Code. 

 

SECTION 3.  That this ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
