Title: To authorize the Finance and Management Director to renew a Universal Term Contract for the option to purchase Mainline Couplings with Ferguson Enterprises.

 Explanation

BACKGROUND:  This legislation authorizes the Finance and Management Director to renew an existing Universal Term Contract (UTC) for the option to obtain Mainline Couplings with Ferguson Enterprises.  This contract provides for mainline sleeve fittings for the Division of Water. 

 

The contract, PO107036 was established in accordance with Request for Quotation RFQ007140 and authorized under Ordinance Number 3204-2017 and will expire March 31, 2020.  In accordance with the bid specifications, the City and Ferguson Enterprises can renew the contract for an additional one year term subject to mutual agreement and approval of proper City Authorities.  The new contract expiration date will be March 31, 2021.

The current contract with Core & Main for the items# 13-43, 45, 54, 56-64, 79, 87, 89-102, 105, 109-114, 116-133, 145-148 will not be extended under PO107040. These items will need to be bid informally as needed by the agencies.

 

FISCAL IMPACT: No funding is required to renew the option contract.  The Department of Public Utilities must set aside their own funding for their estimated expenditures. 

 

Title

 

To authorize the Finance and Management Director to renew a Universal Term Contract for the option to purchase Mainline Couplings with Ferguson Enterprises.

 

Body

 

WHEREAS, the Purchasing Office entered into a Universal Term Contract for Mainline Couplings for use by the Division of Water; and 

 

WHEREAS, this contract was entered into in accordance with Chapter 329 of the Columbus City Code, pursuant to solicitation  RFQ007140 with Ferguson Enterprises deemed the lowest, most responsive, responsible and best bidder, and

 

WHEREAS, in accordance with the bid specifications, the City and Ferguson Enterprises can renew the contract for an additional one year period, subject to mutual agreement and approval of proper City authorities; and,

 

WHEREAS, it has become necessary in the usual daily operation of the Department of Public Utilities  to authorize the Finance and Management Director to renew a Universal Term Contract with Ferguson Enterprises for the option to obtain Mainline Couplings; now, therefore:

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:

 

SECTION 1.  That the Finance and Management Director is hereby authorized to renew the option contract with Ferguson Enterprises, PO107036 for a period of one year, from March 31, 2020 to and including March 31, 2021.

 

SECTION 2. That this extension is in accordance with relevant provisions of Chapter 329 of the Columbus City Code. 

 

SECTION 3.  That this ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
