Explanation
BACKGROUND: This legislation authorizes the Finance and Management Director to modify past, present and future contracts and purchase orders with Residex LLC as the company has undergone an acquisition. This ordinance authorizes the assignment of all past, present and future business done by the City of Columbus from Residex LLC Tax ID# 57-1202840 to Rentokil North America, DBA Target Specialty Products Tax ID# 23-1568350.
No additional funds are necessary to modify the option contract(s) as requested. There is no change in the type of products being procured and the original contract was formally bid. The original terms and conditions remain in effect.
EMERGENCY DESIGNATION: The Finance and Management Department respectfully requests this legislation be considered an emergency in order to maintain an uninterrupted supply of Turf Chemicals.
FISCAL IMPACT: No additional funding is required to modify the option contract. The Department of Recreation and Parks must set aside their own funding for their estimated expenditures.

To authorize the Finance and Management Director to modify past, present and future contract(s) and purchase orders from Residex, LLC to Rentokil North America, DBA Target Specialty Products; and to declare an emergency.
Body
WHEREAS, the Finance and Management Department, Purchasing Office has an option contract and open purchase orders for Turf Chemicals for use by the Division of Golf; and
WHEREAS, Residex LLC has been purchased by Rentokil North America, DBA Target Specialty Products, and in addition to notifying the City, Target Specialty Products has agreed to honor the past, present and future contracts and agreements; and
WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the usual daily operation of the Department of Finance and Management in that it is immediately necessary to modify all contracts and purchase orders established and in process with Residex, LLC. in order to maintain an uninterrupted supply of Turf Chemicals, thereby preserving the public health, peace, property, safety, and welfare; now, therefore
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
SECTION 1. That the Finance and Management Director is hereby authorized to modify all past, present and future contracts and purchase orders pursuant to those contracts to reflect the change from Residex, LLC Tax ID# 57-1202840 to Rentokil North America, DBA Target Specialty Products Tax ID# 23-1568350.
SECTION 2. That this modification is in accordance with relevant provisions of Chapter 329 of the Columbus City Code.
SECTION 3. That for the reasons stated in the preamble hereto, which is hereby made a part hereof, this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor, or ten days after passage if the Mayor neither approves nor vetoes the same.
