Explanation
BACKGROUND: This legislation authorizes the Finance and Management Director to modify an existing Universal Term Contract (UTC) for the option to obtain Data Services with AT & T through March 31, 2021. This contract provides for citywide internet services. This modification is necessary to extend the current contract by twelve months. The contract, PO007219 was established as a Sole Source Contract, and will expire March 31, 2020.
No additional funds are necessary to modify the option contract as requested. There is no change in the services being procured. The original terms and conditions remain in effect, except length of term.
EMERGENCY DESIGNATION: The Finance and Management Department respectfully requests this legislation be considered an emergency measure to ensure uninterrupted and reliable internet services.
FISCAL IMPACT: No funding is required to modify the option contract. The City of Columbus Departments must set aside their own funding for their estimated expenditures.

WHEREAS, the Purchasing Office entered into a Universal Term Contract for Data Services for use citywide; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to modify the existing Universal Term Contract with AT & T to extend services for twelve months; and
WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the usual daily operation of the Department of Finance and Management and various city agencies in that it is immediately necessary to authorize the Director to modify a Universal Term Contract for the option to obtain Data Services with AT & T, thereby preserving the public health, peace, property, safety, and welfare; now, therefore
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
