Explanation
BACKGROUND: This legislation authorizes the Finance and Management Director to renew an existing Universal Term Contract (UTC) for the option to obtain Bobcat OEM Parts with Bobcat Enterprises, Inc. This contract provides for the purchase of Bobcat OEM Parts by the Division of Fleet Management to repair vehicles.
The sole source contract, PO121677 was authorized under Ordinance Number 1413-2018 and will expire June 30, 2020. In accordance with the contract terms, the City and Bobcat Enterprises, Inc. can renew the contract for an additional one year term subject to mutual agreement and approval of proper City Authorities. The new contract expiration date will be June 30, 2021.
FISCAL IMPACT: No funding is required to renew the option contract. The Department of Finance and Management, Division of Fleet Management must set aside their own funding for their estimated expenditures.

WHEREAS, the Purchasing Office entered into a Universal Term Contract for Bobcat OEM Parts for use by the Division of Fleet Management; and
WHEREAS, this contract was entered into in accordance with Chapter 329 of the Columbus City Code, pursuant to Sole Source provisions, and
WHEREAS, in accordance with the bid specifications, the City and Bobcat Enterprises, Inc. can renew the contract for an additional one year period, subject to mutual agreement and approval of proper City authorities; and,
WHEREAS, it has become necessary in the usual daily operation of the Department of Finance and Management, Division of Fleet Management, to authorize the Finance and Management Director to renew a Universal Term Contract with Bobcat Enterprises, Inc. for the option to obtain Bobcat OEM Parts; now, therefore
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
SECTION 1. That the Finance and Management Director is hereby authorized to renew the option contract with Bobcat Enterprises, Inc., PO121677 for a period of one year, from July 1, 2020 to and including June 30, 2021.
SECTION 2. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
