Title: To authorize the Finance and Management Director to renew a Universal Term Contract for the option to purchase Vactor OEM Parts with Jack Doheny Companies, Inc.

 Explanation

BACKGROUND:  This legislation authorizes the Finance and Management Director to renew an existing Universal Term Contract (UTC) for the option to obtain Vactor OEM Parts with Jack Doheny Companies, Inc.  This contract provides for the purchase of Vactor OEM Parts by the Division of Fleet Management to repair City sewer maintenance vehicles. 

 

The sole source contract, PO119858 was authorized under Ordinance Number 1360-2018 and will expire June 30, 2020.  In accordance with the contract terms, the City and Jack Doheny Companies, Inc. can renew the contract for an additional one year term subject to mutual agreement and approval of proper City Authorities.  The new contract expiration date will be June 30, 2021. 

 

FISCAL IMPACT: No funding is required to renew the option contract.  The Department of Finance and Management, Division of Fleet Management must set aside their own funding for their estimated expenditures.

Body

 

WHEREAS, the Purchasing Office entered into a Universal Term Contract for Vactor OEM Parts for use by the Division of Fleet Management; and 

 

WHEREAS, this contract was entered into in accordance with Chapter 329 of the Columbus City Code, pursuant to Sole Source provisions, and

 

WHEREAS, in accordance with the bid specifications, the City and Jack Doheny Companies, Inc. can renew the contract for an additional one year period, subject to mutual agreement and approval of proper City authorities; and

 

WHEREAS, it has become necessary in the usual daily operation of the Department of Finance and Management, Division of Fleet Management, to authorize the Finance and Management Director to renew a Universal Term Contract with Jack Doheny Companies, Inc. for the option to obtain Vactor OEM Parts; now, therefore

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:

 

SECTION 1.  That the Finance and Management Director is hereby authorized to renew the option contract with Jack Doheny Companies, Inc., PO119858 for a period of one year, from July 1, 2020 to and including June 30, 2021.

 

SECTION 2.  That this ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
