WHERAS, Robin L. Holbrook Watson was born November 30, 1962 to parents Pastor Jim and Joyce Salyers Holbrook and was a lifetime South Side resident and a graduate of Marion-Franklin High School; and
WHEREAS, Robin was an original member of the Far South Commission task force and a founding member of the Far South Area Commission; and
WHEREAS, Robin earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Franklin University, having majored in Business Administration with a minor in Marketing and Human Resources;
WHEREAS, Commissioner Holbrook served as chair of the Area Commission’s Community & Public Interest and Zoning Committees prior to being elected Area Commission Chair; and
WHEREAS, Robin was a graduate of the United Way Central Ohio Leadership Academy and championed the establishment of the Scioto Southland Community Center; and
WHEREAS, Commissioner Holbrook was a true champion for the Far South Side of Columbus and surrounding areas. Her leadership and expertise will be deeply missed and never forgotten; therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
That this Council does honor, celebrate, and recognize the life of Robin L. Holbrook Watson, 1962-2020.
