To Recognize Philip A. Schmidt, P.E., as 2020 City of Columbus Engineer of the Year
Body
WHEREAS, Philip A. Schmidt was named the 2020 City of Columbus Engineer of the Year on February 18, 2020 during the Department of Public Utilities and Department of Public Service Engineer for a Day event; and
WHEREAS, Philip A. Schmidt, P.E. is currently an Engineer II with the Department of Public Utilities; and
WHEREAS, Philip A. Schmidt is an employee of the City of Columbus with eleven years of service, who as a manager exhibits excellent leadership skills and is a forward thinker; and
WHEREAS, Throughout his career with the Division of Water, Philip A. Schmidt has demonstrated outstanding leadership and project management skills and facilitated the successful completion of a wide range of projects; and
WHEREAS, Philip A. Schmidt is a model ambassador for the Department of Public Utilities Division of Water, representing his department both nationally as a presenter at the American Water Works Association, and locally through his involvement with the Central Ohio Children’s Water Festival and Engineer for a Day events; therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
That this Council does recognize Philip A. Schmidt, P.E., as the 2020 City of Columbus Engineer of the Year
