Explanation
BACKGROUND: This legislation authorizes the Finance and Management Director to establish four (4) Universal Term Contracts (UTC) for the option to purchase Personal Safety Products with Jendco Safety Supply, Inc., Fastenal Company, Grainger and Bound Tree Medical LLC. All City agencies are users of this contract. Personal Safety Products are used to maintain safety of City employees as they do their respective tasks. The term of the proposed option contract would be approximately three (3) years, expiring June 30, 2023, with the option to renew for one (1) additional year. The Purchasing Office opened formal bids on February 27, 2020. In addition, the expenditure of $1.00 is hereby authorized from General Budget Reservation BRPO001343.
The Purchasing Office advertised and solicited competitive bids in accordance with the relevant provisions of Section 329 relating to competitive bidding (Request for Quotation No. RFQ014632). Four (4) bids were received.
The Purchasing Office is recommending award to the overall lowest, responsive, responsible and best bidders as follows:
Jendco Safety Supply, Inc., CC004977 expires 2/10/2022, Items: 1, 11-18, 20-22, 24-26, 28-32, 34-35, 37, 39-44, 47-48, 51 and 53-54, $1.00; and
Fastenal Company, CC007823 expires 12/17/2021, Items: 1-21, 24-25, 27, 29-50 and 52-54, $1.00; and
Grainger, CC007170 expires 3/4/2022, Items: 2-3, 7, 9-11, 13, 19, 38, 45-46 and 50, $1.00; and
Bound Tree Medical LLC, CC005886 expires 3/16/2022, Items: 5, 22, 26, 28, 33, 36 and 51, $1.00
Total Estimated Annual Expenditure: $300,000.00, All City agencies users
The company is not debarred according to the Excluded Party Listing System of the Federal Government or prohibited from being awarded a contract according to the Auditor of State Unresolved Findings for Recovery Certified Search.
