Explanation
BACKGROUND: This legislation authorizes the Finance and Management Director to renew an existing Universal Term Contract (UTC) for the option to obtain Traffic Sign Posts and Street Name Sign Posts with MD Solutions Inc. This contract provides for traffic sign posts for all traffic signs, delineators and street name signs citywide for the Division of Traffic Management.
The contract, PO076706, was established in accordance with Request for Quotation RFQ002888 and authorized under Ordinance Number 0052-2017 and will expire July 1, 2020. In accordance with the bid specifications, the City and MD Solutions Inc. can renew the contract for an additional one year term subject to mutual agreement and approval of proper City Authorities. The new contract expiration date will be July 1, 2021.
FISCAL IMPACT: No funding is required to renew the option contract. The Department of Public Service must set aside their own funding for their estimated expenditures.

WHEREAS, the Purchasing Office entered into a Universal Term Contract for Traffic Sign and Street name sign posts for use by the Division of Traffic Management; and
WHEREAS, this contract was entered into in accordance with Chapter 329 of the Columbus City Code, pursuant to solicitation RFQ002888, with MD Solutions, Inc. deemed the lowest, most responsive, responsible and best bidder, and
WHEREAS, in accordance with the bid specifications, the City and MD Solutions Inc. can renew the contract for an additional one year period, subject to mutual agreement and approval of proper City authorities, and
