Explanation
BACKGROUND: This legislation authorizes the Finance and Management Director to renew an existing Universal Term Contract (UTC) for the option to obtain Aluminum Sheeting Material with Mandel Metals Inc. This contract provides for Aluminum Sheeting Material and Sign Blanks used for fabrication purposes for the Division of Traffic Management.
The contract, PO125022 was established in accordance with Request for Quotation RFQ009001 and authorized under Ordinance Number 1664-2018 and will expire June 30, 2020. In accordance with the bid specifications, the City and Mandel Metals can renew the contract for an additional one year term subject to mutual agreement and approval of proper City Authorities. The new contract expiration date will be June 30, 2021.
FISCAL IMPACT: No funding is required to renew the option contract. The Department of Public Service must set aside their own funding for their estimated expenditures.

WHEREAS, the Purchasing Office entered into a Universal Term Contract for Aluminum Sheeting Material for use by the Division of Traffic Management, and
WHEREAS, this contract was entered into in accordance with Chapter 329 of the Columbus City Code, pursuant to solicitation RFQ009001 with Mandel Metals deemed the lowest, most responsive, responsible and best bidder, and
WHEREAS, in accordance with the bid specifications, the City and Mandel Metals can renew the contract for an additional one year period, subject to mutual agreement and approval of proper City authorities, and
WHEREAS, it has become necessary in the usual daily operation of the Department of Public Service to authorize the Finance and Management Director to renew a Universal Term Contract with Mandel Metals for the option to obtain Aluminum Sheeting Material; now, therefor...
