Explanation
BACKGROUND
This ordinance authorizes the Franklin County Municipal Court Administrative and Presiding Judge to enter into contract with StepMobile, LLC, and authorizes the expenditure of up to $55,062 from the Municipal Court special funds.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Stay at Home order issued by the Governor of the State of Ohio, as well as the State of Emergency issued by the City of Columbus Mayor, the court finds it necessary to purchase laptops to allow employees to safely and efficiently work from home. StepMobile has the availability of computers needed for the court. Purchase order PO220731 was completed under a 329 Waiver to pay for the computers.

FISCAL IMPACT: Funds are available within the 2020 computer fund and security fund for this purpose.

To authorize and direct the Administrative and Presiding Judge of the Franklin County Municipal Court to enter into contract with StepMobile, LLC; to authorize the expenditure of up to $55,062.00 for laptop computers from the computer and security funds. ($55,062.00)
Body
WHEREAS, the Court has determined that it is in its best interest to enter into contract with StepMobile to purchase laptops to allow employees to safely and efficiently work from home; and
WHEREAS, StepMobile currently has the needed inventory; and
WHEREAS, $55,062 is needed to provide for the equipment and PO220731 was completed under a 329 Waiver to pay for the computers; and
WHEREAS, it has become necessary in the usual daily operation of the Municipal Court to authorize the Administrative and Presiding Judge to enter into contract with Stepmobile, LLC and to authorize the expenditure for laptop computers, thereby preserving the public health, peace, property, safety and welfare; Now, Therefore,
