Explanation
BACKGROUND: This legislation authorizes the Finance and Management Director to renew two (2) existing Universal Term Contracts (UTC) for the option to obtain Dell Computers and Accessories with Brown Enterprise Solutions, LLC, and Softchoice. These contracts provide computers and accessories citywide.
The contracts, PO129552 and PO129553, were established in accordance with Request for Quotation RFQ008610, authorized under Ordinance Number 2027-2018, and will expire April 30, 2020. In accordance with the bid specifications, the City, Brown Enterprise Solutions, LLC, and Softchoice can renew the contracts through the end of the year, subject to mutual agreement and approval of proper City authorities. The new expiration date will be December 31, 2020 for each contract.
EMERGENCY DESIGNATION: The Finance and Management Department respectfully requests this legislation be considered an emergency measure because the current contracts expire on April 30, 2020.
FISCAL IMPACT: No funding is required to renew the option contract. Departments utilizing the contracts must set aside their own funding for their estimated expenditures.

WHEREAS, the Purchasing Office entered into two (2) Universal Term Contracts for Dell Computers and Accessories for use citywide; and
WHEREAS, these contracts were entered into in accordance with Chapter 329 of the Columbus City Code, pursuant to solicitation RFQ008610 with Brown Enterprise Solutions, LLC. and Softchoice, deemed the lowest, most responsive, responsible and best bidders, and
