Explanation

 

The purpose of this legislation is to authorize the Finance and Management Director to associate all General Budget Reservations resulting from this ordinance with the appropriate pending Universal Term Contract Purchase Agreement for the purchase of Construction Castings for the Division of Sewerage and Drainage, Sewer Maintenance Operations Center.  The Purchasing Office has a pending Universal Term Contract in process, which opened on April 16, 2020.

 

This contract is utilized for the purchase of Construction Castings for the Division of Sewerage and Drainage, Sewer Maintenance Operations Center. These Construction Castings will be used for the replacement of existing castings, sewer construction and repair projects and street repair projects.

 

The company is not debarred according to the Excluded Party Listing System of the Federal Government or prohibited from being awarded a contract according to the Auditor of State Unresolved Findings for Recovery Certified Search.

 

FISCAL IMPACT: $200,000.00 is budgeted and needed for this purchase.  

 

$190,398.00 was spent in 2019

$101,008.00 was spent in 2018

 

Title

 

To authorize the Finance and Management Director to associate all General Budget Reservations resulting from this ordinance with the appropriate pending Universal Term Contract Purchase Agreement for the purchase of Construction Castings for the Division of Sewerage and Drainage; and to authorize the expenditure of $200,000.00 from the Sewerage Operating Fund.  ($200,000.00)

 

Body

 

WHEREAS, the Purchasing Office opened RFQ015323 on April 16, 2020 for the purchase of Construction Castings for the Division of Sewerage and Drainage, Sewer Maintenance Operations Center; and

 

WHEREAS, the Purchasing Office is in the process of establishing a Universal Term Contract Purchase Agreement for the purchase of Construction Castings; and

 

WHEREAS, these Construction Castings will be used for the replacement of existing castings, sewer construction and repair projects and street repair projects, and

 

WHEREAS, it has become necessary in the usual daily operation of the Department of Public Utilities, Division of Sewerage and Drainage, to authorize the Finance and Management Director to associate all General Budget Reservations resulting from this ordinance with the appropriate pending Universal Term Contract Agreement for the purchase of Construction Castings; now, therefore

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:

 

SECTION 1 That the Finance and Management Director be and is hereby authorized to associate all General Budget Reservations resulting from this ordinance with the appropriate Universal Term Contract Purchase Agreement for the purchase of Construction Castings for the Division of Sewerage and Drainage, in accordance with a pending contract on file in the Purchasing Office.

 

SECTION 2. That the funds necessary to carry out the purpose of this ordinance are hereby deemed appropriated, and the City Auditor shall establish such accounting codes as necessary.

 

SECTION 3.   That the expenditure of $200,000.00, or so much thereof as may be needed, is hereby authorized in Fund 6100 (Sewer Operating-Sanitary), in object class 02 Material and Supplies per the accounting codes in the attachment to this ordinance.

 

SECTION 4.  That this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
