Title: To authorize the Director of Public Utilities to modify (Mod #3) an existing professional engineering services agreement with Hatch Associates Consultants, Inc. for the Jackson Pike Waste Water Treatment Plant Facilities and Equipment Upgrade for Whittier Street Storm Tanks Project; and to authorize the expenditure of up to $1,198,635.18 from the Sewer General Obligation Bond Fund.

Explanation

1. BACKGROUND: This legislation authorizes the Director of Public Utilities to modify (Mod #3) an existing professional engineering agreement with Hatch Associates Consultants, Inc., for the Jackson Pike Waste Water Treatment Plant (JPWWTP) Facilities and Equipment Upgrade for the Whittier Street Storm Tanks (WSST) Project, CIP 650258-100001. The original intent of this project was to create a design that would fully restore the Whittier Street Storm Tanks and control house. This modification is for needed engineering services during construction to ensure that design intents are met during this complex and large construction project. This modification for services during construction is planned for third quarter 2020 and will progress through the duration of construction. The separate construction project is expected to be completed by fourth quarter of 2023.

Community Planning Area is 99 Citywide.

The cost proposal was provided by Hatch Associates Consultants, Inc., reviewed by the Division of Sewerage, and Drainage and was deemed acceptable.

2. PROJECT TIMELINE: This modification for services during construction is planned for third quarter 2020 and will progress through the duration of construction. The separate construction project is expected to be completed by fourth quarter of 2023.

3. DESIGNATION: Emergency designation is not requested at this time.
