To commemorate the work and career of Rob Newman, and to congratulate Rob on his retirement from the City of Columbus, Department of Finance and Management.
Body

WHEREAS, Rob Newman began his career with the City of Columbus as a Student Intern with the Finance and Management Department in January 1983.
WHEREAS, Rob Newman was promoted to a full-time analyst position in October 1983 following his graduation from Capital University.
WHEREAS, Rob Newman was promoted to the City Debt Management Coordinator in September 1994.
WHEREAS, during his time working for the City, Rob Newman served under five Mayors, two City Auditors, nine Finance Directors and numerous City Councilmembers.
WHEREAS, Rob Newman has played a vital role over the many years in helping to coordinate dozens of capital bond issuances as well as city bond packages.
WHEREAS, Rob Newman, as the city debt coordinator, helped the City earn and maintain the AAA Bond Rating from all the major credit rating agencies.
WHEREAS, upon retirement, a beloved piece of city equipment retires as well: Rob’s dot matrix printer on which decades of debt schedules for the city were printed.
WHEREAS, in Rob’s retirement, he will still be responsible for distributing the March Madness brackets as well as supplying the Finance and Management office with surplus garden vegetables.
WHEREAS, in his absence, others in Finance and Management will be responsible for maintaining the dried tangerines and collecting former employee door nameplates.
WHEREAS, except for the London Red Raiders, Rob Newman does not like any local sports teams, preferring to root for the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Boston Celtics, and the North Carolina Tar Heels.
WHEREAS, Rob Newman will be greatly missed by his many colleagues in Finance and Management and in various city departments.
WHEREAS, Rob Newman will now have more time to spend with his wife Cindy and sons Nick, Drew and Zack.
