To Honor and Recognize Golda Edmonston on Being Inducted into the City of Columbus Hall of Fame 2020

WHEREAS, the members of Columbus City Council are proud to honor and recognize Golda Edmonston on being inducted into the City of Columbus’ Hall of Fame 2020; and
WHEREAS, Golda Edmonston was the first female to have been president of Columbus City Council. It was in the 1960s, and she was very well thought of, and for a short time she was acting mayor; and
WHEREAS, Golda Edmonston served in the House of Representatives five different times in the 1940s and 1950s. Golda advocated for women having equal rights, and equal pay; and
WHEREAS, Golda Edmonston service achievements include the Republican State Central Committee woman (two terms), past national officer of the Grand Council of Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America, and Supreme Royal Matron of the Order of the Amarath of the World; and
WHEREAS, Golda Edmonston had her own political style because of this she was successful, she was honest, forthcoming unafraid and respected by many; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS: That this council hereby honors and recognizes Golda Edmonston on being inducted into the City of Columbus’ Hall of Fame.
