Explanation

BACKGROUND: Columbus Public Health has been awarded a grant from U.S. Department of Justice, through the National Association of VOCA Assistance Administrators (NAVAA). This ordinance is needed to accept and appropriate $5,000.00 in grant money to fund the National Crime Victims’ Rights Week Community Awareness Project grant program, for the period March 8, 2021 through June 30, 2021.
The primary purpose of the National Crime Victims’ Rights Week Community Awareness Project grant program, held the week of April 18, 2021 through April 24, 2021, is to renew commitment to serving all victims of crime, to acknowledge the achievements in victim services and allied professions, to honor those who have gone above and beyond in their service to others, and to remember crime victims and survivors.
