Explanation                    

 

BACKGROUND:  To authorize the Finance and Management Director to enter into a contract with BissNuss Inc. for the purchase of Chemical Inductor Units, Water Champ SWC15FX Series Part #W2T829904 for the Division of Sewerage and Drainage to be used at the Southerly Wastewater Treatment Plant for repair and maintenance of plant mixing and diffusion of chemicals.

 

The Purchasing Office advertised and solicited competitive bids in accordance with the relevant provisions of City Code Chapter 329 relating to competitive bidding (RFQ018648).  One (1) MAJ bid was received and opened on May 20, 2021.  After a review of the bid, the Division of Sewerage and Drainage recommends an award be made for all items to BissNuss Inc. in the amount of $94,902.00 as the only responsive, responsible and best bidder

 

The company is not debarred according to the Excluded Party Listing System of the Federal Government or prohibited from being awarded a contract according to the Auditor of State Unresolved Findings for Recovery Certified Search.

Body

 

WHEREAS, the Purchasing Office opened formal bids on May 20, 2021 for the purchase of Chemical Inductor Units, Water Champ FX Series for the Division of Sewerage and Drainage; and

 

WHEREAS, the Division of Sewerage and Drainage recommends an award be made to the only responsive, responsible and best bidder, BissNuss Inc.; and

 

WHEREAS, the Chemical Inductor Units, Water Champ FX Series will be used by the Southerly Wastewater Treatment Plant for the repair and maintenance of plant mixing and diffusion of chemicals; and

 

WHEREAS, this ordinance authorizes the expenditure of $94,902.00, or so much thereof as may be needed, for the purchase of Chemical Inductor Units, Water Champ FX Series for the Division of Sewerage and Drainage; and

 

WHEREAS, it has become necessary in the usual daily operation of the Department of Public Utilities to authorize the Director of Finance and Management to enter into a contract with BissNuss Inc. in accordance with the terms, conditions and specifications of Solicitation Number RFQ018648 on file in the Purchasing Office; now, therefore,

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:

 

SECTION 1.  That the Finance and Management Director be and is hereby authorized to enter into contract for all items with BissNuss Inc. for the purchase of Chemical Inductor Units, Water Champs FX Series for the Division of Sewerage and Drainage, Southerly Wastewater Treatment Plant in accordance with RFQ018648 specifications on file in the Purchasing Office.

 

SECTION 2.  That the expenditure of $94,902.00 or as much thereof as may be needed is hereby authorized in Fund 6100 (Sewer Operating Sanitary Fund) in Object Class 02 Materials and Supplies per the accounting codes in the attachment to this ordinance.

 

SECTION 3.  That the funds necessary to carry out the purpose of this ordinance are hereby deemed appropriated, and the City Auditor shall establish such accounting codes as necessary.

 

SECTION 4.  That this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
