To celebrate the life and legacy of Mrs. Berniece Pauline Troy and to extend our deepest condolences to her family on the occasion of her passing, Saturday, October 23, 2021.

 

 

Body

 

WHEREAS, the members of Columbus City Council extend this resolution of expression to honor the life, legacy and service of Mrs. Berniece Pauline Troy, who after an extended illness, passed away on Saturday, October 23, 2021; and

 

WHEREAS, Mrs. Berniece Pauline Troy was happily married to her loving husband, Pastor Leon Troy, Sr. for forty-four (44) years; and had  five sons: Leon Troy, Jr., Dr. Keith A. Troy, Adam Troy, Eric Troy and Jay Scott Troy; and

 

WHEREAS, Mrs. Berniece Pauline Troy, a God-fearing woman, proudly served, along side her husband, as the First Lady of Second Baptist Church for twenty-one (2) years; and

 

WHEREAS, Mrs. Berniece Pauline Troy was recognized locally and Nationally for numerous leadership roles within the Eastern Union Baptist Association; and

 

WHEREAS, Mrs. Bernice Pauline Troy was a mentor and friend to many, and leaves a legacy of leadership and service that this community will cherish and a void which will be missed by all who knew her; now therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:

 

That this Council does hereby celebrate the life, legacy and service of Mrs. Berneice Pauline Troy and extend our deepest condolences to her family on the occasion of her passing, Saturday, October 23, 2021.
