To Recognize and Celebrate Jessica Doogan as a 2021 Recipient of the Ohio State Legal Services Association Pro Bono Award.

WHEREAS, Jessica Doogan is the recipient of the 2021 OSLSA Pro Bono Award in recognition of her volunteer work with unemployment cases during COVID-19 pandemic; and
WHEREAS, Jessica earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois at Springfield and her law degree from Capital University Law School, earning both pro bono honors and was president of the American Constitution Society; and
WHEREAS, Prior to her current position as the Director of Legal Transactions for I am Boundless, Inc., Jessica worked as an Associate Attorney at Fishel Downey Albrecht & Riepenhoff LLP where she appeared in court on behalf of the interests of the individuals, municipalities, and insurance companies in common pleas court, appellate court, and federal courts; and
WHEREAS, Jessica began volunteering with the Legal Aid Society of Columbus in 2019; and
WHEREAS, Jessica is an invaluable addition to the pro bono community of Columbus, positively impacts the lives of her clients, and contributes greatly to the operations of the Legal Aid Society of Columbus and the Ohio State Legal Services Association; and
WHEREAS, The Legal Aid Society of Columbus is led by a dedicated team of attorneys who are passionate about providing legal services to low-income individuals and it is an honor and a privilege to work with an organization that is committed to making the daily lives of Columbus residents better - an fact exemplified by the service of attorneys such as Jessica Doogan; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
That this Council does hereby recognize and celebrate Jessica Doogan as the 2021 Recipient of the Ohio State Legal Services Association Pro Bono Award.
