Title: To authorize the Finance and Management Director to enter into two (2) contracts for the option to purchase Office Chairs with Continental Office Furniture and King Business Interiors Inc.; to authorize the expenditure of $2.00 from General Budget Reservation BRPO001670; and to declare an emergency. ($2.00).
Explanation

BACKGROUND: This legislation authorizes the Finance and Management Director to establish two (2) Universal Term Contracts (UTCs) for the option to purchase Office Chairs with Continental Office Furniture, and King Business Interiors Inc. Office chairs are used by all City agencies to meet the seating needs of personnel in various work environments. The term of the proposed option contract would be approximately two (2) years, expiring April 30, 2024, with the option to renew for one (1) additional year. The Purchasing Office opened formal bids on January 6, 2022. In addition, the expenditure of $2.00 is hereby authorized from General Budget Reservation BRPO001670.

The Purchasing Office advertised and solicited competitive bids in accordance with the relevant provisions of Section 329 relating to competitive bidding (Request for Quotation No. RFQ020525). Three (3) bids were received.

The Purchasing Office is recommending award to the overall lowest, responsive, responsible and best bidders as follows:

Continental Office Furniture, CC# CC006118, expires 1/11/2024, Items 3-4 (Groupe Lacasse/United Chair); and 10 (Herman Miller), $1.00
King Business Interiors Inc., CC# WBE005688, expires 2/28/2024, Items 1-2 (Global), 3-4 (Groupe Lacasse/United Chair); 5-6 (9 to 5 Seating), 7-8 (Hon), 9 (Allseating) and 11-12 (SitOnIt), $1.00

Total Estimated Annual Expenditure: $200,000.00, All City Agencies

Emergency Designation: The Finance and Management Department respectfully requests this legislation to be considered an emergency ordinance because office chairs and various seating is needed for use in offices and other work settings.

These companies are not debarred according to the Excluded Party Listing System of the Federal Government or prohibited from being awarded a contract according to the Auditor of State Unresolved Findings for Recovery Certified Search.
