To recognize March 2022 as Women’s History Month in the City of Columbus and acknowledge Zora’s House for their work in support of women of color

 

Body

 

WHEREAS, Women’s History Month honors the contributions women have made to the United States and recognizes the specific achievements women have made over the course of American history in a variety of fields; and

WHEREAS, Women’s History is a month-long celebration of women’s contributions to culture, history and society; and

WHEREAS, Zora’s House supports women of color across the spectrum of income and ethnicity; and provides women of color with the clarity, confidence, and connections they need to amplify their authentic voices; grow and contribute their talents, and powerfully transform their lives, careers, and communities; and

WHEREAS, Zora’s House serves an inclusive learning space for the larger community on issues of race, politics, economics, arts, and culture, as they relate to the identities and experiences of women of color; and

WHEREAS, Zora’s House centers and elevates the voices, leadership, healing and creativity of women of color; now, therefore

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS: That this Council does hereby recognize March 1st 2022 to March 31st, 2022, as Women’s History Month and acknowledge Zora’s House for their work in support of women of color.
