Explanation
Background:
This ordinance will authorize the Director of Recreation and Parks to enter into a contract with LifeCare Alliance in connection with the Senior Farmer's Market Nutrition Program.
This program will provide vouchers for seniors to redeem with local organized markets, including the North Market, in various Central Ohio counties. Approximately 5,100 individuals are expected to receive vouchers.
EMERGENCY DESIGNATION:
Emergency action is requested so that the program can be implemented by April 1, 2022 in accordance with grant conditions.
This ordinance is contingent upon the passage of the appropriation ordinance 0623-2022.

FISCAL IMPACT:
$203,952.00 is required from the Recreation and Parks Grant fund for the initial award with any additional awards received up to $50,000.00 to total $253,952.00.
A total of $246,081.00 and $232,838.00 were paid to LifeCare Alliance in 2021 and 2020, respectively, for the Senior Farmer’s Market Nutrition Program, bringing the aggregate amount for the three years to $682,871.00.
