Explanation

BACKGROUND:  This legislation authorizes the Director of the Department of Development to modify a contract with Ohio Mechanical, Inc. to increase the contract amount by $100,000.00.

This contract provides mechanical repair and replacement services to low and very low income owner occupants.

 

Emergency action is requested so services can be maintained without interruption.

 

Contract Compliance:  the vendor number is 005774 and expires 12/9/2023.

 

Fiscal Impact: Funding is available from the Neighborhood Economic Development fund (2237).

 

 

 

Title

To authorize the Director of the Department of Development to modify a contract with Ohio Mechanical, Inc. to increase the contract amount by $100,000.00; to authorize the appropriation ad expenditure of $100,000.00 from the Neighborhood Economic Development fund (2237); and to declare an emergency. ($100,000.00)

 

 

Body

WHEREAS, the Director of the Department of Development wishes to modify a contract with Ohio Mechanical, Inc., by increasing the contract amount by $100,000.00; and

 

WHEREAS, this contract provides mechanical repairs and replacements to low and very low income owner occupants; and

 

WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the usual daily operation of the Department of Development in that it is immediately necessary to authorize the Director to modify the agreement with Ohio Mechanical, Inc. so that low and moderate owner occupants can be served without interruption, all for the immediate preservation of the public health, safety, and welfare; NOW THEREFORE,

 

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:

 

SECTION 1.                     That the Director of the Department of Development is hereby authorized to modify contract number PO316250 with Ohio Mechanical, Inc. to increase the contract amount by $100,000.00.

 

SECTION 2. That from the unappropriated monies and from all monies estimated to come into said fund from any and all sources and unappropriated for any other purpose during the fiscal year ended December 31, 2022, the sum of $100,000.00 is appropriated in fund 2237 (Neighborhood Economic Development Fund) Dept-Div 44-10 (Housing), in object class 03 (Services) per the account codes in the attachment to this ordinance.

 

SECTION 3. That for the purpose as stated in Section 1, the expenditure of $100,000.00, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is hereby authorized in fund 2237 (Neighborhood Economic Development Fund), Dept-Div 44-10 (Housing), in Object Class 03 (Services) per the accounting codes in the attachment to this ordinance.

 

SECTION 4.                      That the funds necessary to carry out the purpose of this ordinance are hereby deemed appropriated, and the City Auditor shall establish such accounting codes as necessary.

 

SECTION 5.  That the City Auditor is authorized to make any accounting changes to revise the funding source for all contracts or contract modifications associated with this ordinance.

 

SECTION 6.                     That for the reasons stated in the preamble hereto, which is hereby made a part hereof, this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force from and after passage and approval by the Mayor, or ten days after passage if the Mayor neither approves nor vetoes the same.
