BACKGROUND: Columbus Public Health has been awarded a grant from the National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO). This ordinance is needed to accept and appropriate $26,341.63 in grant monies to fund the CDC’s infection control and assessment Grant Program for the period of January 2, 2022 through July 31, 2022.

Columbus Public Health agrees to provide the staffing and services to enhance the programmatic activities of CDC Grant# 6NU38OT000306-04-01, CFDA# 93.421 as described on the attached.

NACCHO contract #2022-032110 states a $26,341.63 payment due 7/31/2022. In addition, $53,658.37 payment by June 30, 2023 is contingent on NACCO receiving approval to exercise expanded authority in the administration of the award of CDC
Grant #6NU38OT000306-04-01 and will have a separate request by ordinance for the appropriation of $53,658.37 award after this confirmation. Total award for Grant #G502222 is $80,000.00 of which $26,341.63 is being accepted and appropriated at this time.

This ordinance is submitted as an emergency to not delay program activities and attend required meetings, and to allow the financial transactions to be posted in the City’s accounting system as soon as possible given the grant start date of January 2, 2022.

FISCAL IMPACT: The NACCHO Grant Program is entirely funded by the CDC Grant. This program does not generate any revenue or require a City match.
