Explanation
1. Background
The Maronda Homes LLC, of Ohio by Todd Lipschutz, Division Manager, owner of the platted land, has submitted the plat titled “Sussex Place Section 4 Phase 2” to the City Engineer’s Office for review and approval. This plat has been reviewed and approved by the City Engineer. The following ordinance allows the City to accept said plat for property located for a subdivision of lots numbered 132-168 and 194-215 inclusive.
2. Fiscal Impact
There is no fiscal impact to the City to accept the plat.
3. Emergency Justification
Emergency action is requested to allow development of this project to proceed as currently scheduled.

WHEREAS, the plat titled “Sussex Place Section 4 Phase 2” (hereinafter “plat”) has been submitted to the City Engineer’s Office for approval and acceptance; and
WHEREAS, Maronda Homes LLC, of Ohio by Todd Lipschutz, Division Manager, owner of the platted land, desires to dedicate to the public use all or such parts of the avenues and easements shown on said plat and not heretofore so dedicated; and
WHEREAS, after examination, it has been found to be in the best interest of the City to accept said plat; and
WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the usual daily operation of the Department of Public Service in that said plat should be accepted immediately to allow new development in the area of Sussex Place Section 4 Phase 2 to proceed as quickly as possible, to ensure the safety of the traveling public thereby preserving the public health, peace, property, safety and welfare; now, therefore
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS
SECTION 1. That the plat titled “Sussex Place Section 4 Phase 2” on file in the office of the City Engineer, Department of Public Service, be and the same is hereby accepted.
SECTION 2. That for the reasons stated in the preamble hereto, which is hereby made a part hereof, this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor or ten days after passage if the Mayor neither approves nor vetoes the same.
