Explanation
Section 2.4 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the City of Columbus and Fraternal Order of Police, Capital City Lodge #9, dated December 9, 2020 through December 8, 2023, requires that any modifications to the Agreement be agreed to by the parties in writing. Memorandum of Understanding #2022-05 temporarily amends Article 22 of the Agreement by providing pay at double the straight time hourly rate for Police Officers, Police Sergeants, and Police Lieutenants who work voluntary scheduled overtime for the 2022 City Parks Special Operation on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday from 4:00 P.M. to 3:00 A.M., beginning May 27, 2022 and lasting until September 5, 2022.
The passage of this ordinance indicates City Council’s approval of MOU #2022-05, a copy of which is attached hereto.
Emergency action is recommended in order to allow for expedient implementation.
