Explanation

BACKGROUND:  This legislation authorizes the Finance and Management Director to renew a contract with Byers, Minton & Associates, LLC for state government relations consulting services. The initial contract term was entered into pursuant to Ordinance 2037-2018, and executed on September 7, 2018. Ordinance 2638-2019 authorized the renewal of the contract, as well as a waiver of the competitive bidding provisions of Columbus City Code, Chapter 329 and also provided for two (2) additional one-year renewal options. Ordinance 2345-2021, authorized the second of these two renewal options for the period October 1, 2021 through September 30, 2022 and modified the contract to provide for two (2) additional one-year renewals options. This ordinance seeks authority to exercise the first contract renewal option with Byers, Minton & Associates for the period October 1, 2022 through September 30, 2023.
