BACKGROUND: Columbus Public Health has been awarded additional grant funds from the National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO). This ordinance is needed to accept and appropriate $53,658.37 in grant monies to fund the CDC’s infection control and assessment Grant Program for the period of January 2, 2022 through June 30, 2023. The total grant award is $80,000. The initial amount of $26,341.63 was Ord. 1319-2022 passed by city council on 5/26/2022.

Columbus Public Health agrees to provide the staffing and services to enhance the programmatic activities of CDC Grant# 6NU38OT000306-04-01, CFDA# 93.421 as described on the attached Modification of Agreement.

This ordinance is submitted as an emergency to not delay program activities and attend required meetings, and to allow the financial transactions to be posted in the City’s accounting system as soon as possible given the grant start date of January 2, 2022.

FISCAL IMPACT: The NACCHO Grant Program is entirely funded by the CDC Grant. This program does not generate any revenue or require a City match.

WHEREAS, $80,000.00 in grant award funding has been made available through the National Association of County and City Health Officials for the CDC’s infection control and assessment Grant Program for the period of January 2, 2022 through June 30, 2023; and,
