1. BACKGROUND
This ordinance authorizes the Director of Public Service to execute a reimbursement agreement with, and to accept payment from, the City of Groveport for work performed as part of the Signals - Signal Timing - General Engineering 2020 project.
The aforementioned effort, which is being administered by the Department of Public Service, encompasses various traffic signal corridor retiming tasks, including retiming the traffic signals on the stretch of Hamilton Road from Refugee Road to Firehouse Lane. Some of the impacted traffic signals are located within the corporate limits of Groveport, which has agreed to reimburse the Department of Public Service for retiming those traffic signals, which is estimated to cost $10,806.88.
2. EMERGENCY DESIGNATION
Emergency action is requested to allow for the execution of the necessary reimbursement agreement to occur as soon as reasonably practicable to prevent unnecessary delays in the completion of the aforementioned signal retiming tasks, which will increase safety while also reducing congestion and lowering emissions in the Hamilton Road corridor.
