To honor, recognize, and celebrate the life and service of Officer Andrew Mott




WHEREAS,  Officer Andrew Mott His remarkable journey began June 8, 1987 in Salem, OH. From his early days at The Ohio State University to his steadfast commitment to public service, reflects a life well-lived. He exemplified the true essence of a hero, selflessly putting his life on the line every day to ensure the safety and well-being of others is a testament to his unwavering commitment to making a positive difference; and


WHEREAS, Officer Andrew Mott in his early years served as an engineer at Honda before being called to his career as a police officer. He served 5 years with Columbus Police Department, a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, and was awarded the Division of Police Purple Heart in 2021; and


WHEREAS, Officer Andrew Mott was actively involved in the community serving an active member of Oasis City Church, devoting his service their to the worship team and musical department; and


WHEREAS, we remember Officer Andrew Mott, let us also honor the legacy he leaves behind - a legacy of service, bravery, and compassion.  It is evident that his impact extended far beyond his immediate family, touching the lives of all who were fortunate to cross paths with him.


WHEREAS, Officer Andrew Mott was loved by many people and he is survived by his wife, Kelli Marie Mott; parents, Richard and Jeanette Mott; two brothers, Jonathan Mott and David (Andria) Mott, and one sister, MaryEllen (Michael) Marrah; one niece, Aliyah Okyere, and two nephews, Ethan and Jayden Okyere; and extended family; now therefore,


BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS: That this Council does hereby honor, recognize, and celebrate the life and service of Officer Andrew Mott. Officer Mott’s legacy is woven into the fabric of the community. On behalf of the City of Columbus, we extend our deepest condolences.
