Explanation
BACKGROUND: This ordinance amends the current authorized strength, as set forth in ordinance 1591-2024.
The strength levels for most general fund agencies are set to be equal to the 2024 budget as amended by City Council (including the Departments of Health and Recreation and Parks). Authorized strength levels of smaller non-general fund agencies are set to be equal to the adopted 2024 budget as amended, while the strength levels of certain larger non-general fund agencies may have their strength set slightly higher to allow for flexibility in hiring.
Within the Office of the City Auditor, two full time positions are requested to move from Income Tax to City Auditor’s office. The Department of Public Safety, Administration Division authorized strength will increase by one full-time position and decrease by one part-time as this role transitions from part-time to full-time. Additionally, within the Department of Public Safety, Support Services Division, an addition of two full-time positions is requested to allow for flexibility in hiring. Within the Office of the Mayor, an increase of one part-time position is requested for the Office of CelebrateOne. Recreation and Parks is requesting an increase of two full-time fiscal support staff and one full-time parks position, and a reduction of six part-time positions; additionally, a request is made for one full-time position in the forestry section. Public Service Administration requests three full-time positions; two within Administration and one position within Parking Services. A corresponding reduction of two full-time positions is recorded within Infrastructure Management. Public Utilities Administration division requests an increase of five full-time position within the Director’s Office.
